Job Summary

This Applications Specialist role, based in Cologne for RheinCargo, a major German private freight railway, focuses on the continuous support and development of critical IT applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the operational lifecycle of IT systems, including providing essential First and Second Level Support and actively participating in the Change Management process. Daily duties involve the autonomous planning and coordination of IT sub-projects, ideally leveraging agile methodologies like Scrum. A core responsibility is the maintenance and development of the IT ticketing system, requiring strong analytical skills to track and resolve disruptions and requirements. Applicants must have completed commercial training or an equivalent qualification, possess proven experience in application support, and be proficient with standard software and ITSM tools.
