Job Summary

This role involves providing essential First-Level Support as part of the User Help Desk Community of Interest (UHD COI) for Military Intelligence and the Federated Service Desk for BICES Group Executive (BGX) in Brussels. The specialist will primarily focus on managing service requests and incidents related to applications, requiring detailed analysis, assessment, and prioritization. Day-to-day tasks include setting up, operating, maintaining, and documenting IT components and systems within a secure, windowless, and air-conditioned environment. This position is critical for maintaining operational readiness, requires full-time commitment, shift work (24/7), and regular domestic business travel. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or possesses relevant IT vocational training coupled with substantial professional experience.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree or Diploma (FH) in Computer Science or another technical field, OR relevant vocational training in the IT sector (e.g., IT Specialist for System Integration) or as an Electronics Technician for Equipment and Systems.

Experience

  • Professional experience in IT tasks (required for candidates without a Bachelor's degree, minimum duration of three years)
  • Experience in leading civilian and military personnel (desired)

  • Unrestricted shift work suitability (24/7) is mandatory; Driver's license Class B required; Willingness to acquire the Bundeswehr Class B driver's license; Willingness to participate in regular advanced training; Successful completion of an expanded security clearance (Ü3) is mandatory; Willingness to work in a windowless, air-conditioned protective structure; Willingness to undertake regular domestic business trips.
