Job Summary
This role involves leading the strategic and operational aspects of production, quality control, and engineering for individualized therapies at the Mainz sites. The Senior Director will be responsible for managing large teams of over 350 full-time employees, fostering their development, and collaborating closely with clinical teams and external partners. A key focus will be on ensuring and maintaining safety, quality, and sustainability standards, including GMP certification, launch readiness, and technology transfer. The position requires a leader who can oversee budget, work effectively with interdisciplinary teams, and contribute to the company's growth in a dynamic pharmaceutical and biotechnology environment, offering significant impact and professional development opportunities.
Required Skills
Education
Degree in Natural Sciences, Engineering, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or related field. Ideally, a PhD or MBA with a focus on management in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
Experience
- 10-15 years in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
- Professional experience in a leadership position within the industry
- Proven experience in clinical trial manufacturing, including budget oversight and target achievement
- Professional experience in disciplinary leadership of large teams (>300 FTEs)
- Professional experience in developing leaders
- Professional experience with product launches and preparation for Phase 3 studies
- Deep understanding of GMP standards, FDA/EMA regulations, and Tech Transfer processes
- Professional experience in optimizing production processes and quality standards
- Professional experience in prioritizing resources and projects in a dynamic environment
- Professional experience in project management and interdisciplinary collaboration
