Job Summary
This role is for an IT Engineer focused on browser environments within the Department for Digitalization, Organization, and IT (DO.IT) of the State Capital Stuttgart. The successful candidate will ensure the smooth operation and reliable administration of city-wide browsers, managing their entire lifecycle from conception to design. Key responsibilities include providing 2nd-level support for browser-related issues, assisting citizen developers with web technology queries, and actively contributing to the continuous improvement of IT services in the browser domain through design, testing, and operation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to translate technical requirements into solutions, including project-related software engineering tasks for web environments, and to play a vital role in supporting the digitalization efforts of Stuttgart.
Required Skills
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a comparable field. For foreign degrees, recognition in Germany or proof of an equivalent qualification is required.
Experience
- Initial experience in problem analysis and concept creation
- Experience in realizing web applications, ideally with JavaScript
- Experience in project-based work and handling security issues in browser environments (advantageous)
- Experience with the lifecycle of various browsers (e.g., Firefox, Edge) and complex municipal structures (advantageous)

- Must be eligible to work in Germany (e.g., possess necessary work permits or citizenship). Foreign degrees require official recognition in Germany.
