Job Summary

As a Laboratory Engineer at the Technology Application Center Spiegelau, you will be responsible for managing and operating laboratories focused on melting technology, microscopy, and analytics. This involves handling chemicals, operating software for glass composition and properties, utilizing laser scanning microscopy, DTA, and dilatometry, and adhering to safety regulations. A key part of your role will be preparing reports and protocols for both internal and external projects, actively participating in publicly funded research initiatives, and contributing to contract research and services for industrial partners. You will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop and optimize glass melting technologies and materials. This position offers an opportunity to engage in applied research and innovation within a dynamic and supportive environment, contributing to advancements in glass and material sciences.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Glass or Material Sciences, or related fields; alternatively, a completed vocational training in a craft with further qualification as a Master Craftsman or Technician.
