Job Summary

Join an innovative team at DB Fahrwegdienste GmbH in Berlin, focusing on developing and managing Geoinformation Systems and geodata, particularly in the context of drone flights for vegetation monitoring. This role involves enhancing specialized applications like "DigiFE: Digital Remote Sensing" through process automation and establishing robust IT architecture. You will be deeply involved in processing image and sensor data from drone flights, managing metadata, and handling raw data processing, data refinement, and data management across various development environments. The position also requires conceptualizing and automating workflows, ensuring stable application operations, and contributing analytical expertise to improve remote sensing products and processes. You'll act as a key interface to internal departments and clients, managing IT service providers, and providing daily user support, making this a pivotal role in advancing the company's GIS capabilities.

Required Skills

Education

Degree in Geoinformatics, Computer Science, Geoinformation, Geodesy, Geo- or Forest Sciences, or comparable vocational training with relevant experience

Experience

  • Practical experience in building cloud-based geodata infrastructures (e.g., Docker)
  • Experience in processing geo- and remote sensing information
  • Experience with GIS and image processing software (QGIS, Geoserver, Erdas Imagine, ODM or similar)
  • In-depth knowledge in at least one high-level programming language (e.g., Python)
  • In-depth knowledge in database development (Postgres/PostGIS)
  • In-depth knowledge in photogrammetry and analysis of remote sensing data
  • Experience with OpenSource technology (QGIS, Postgres, Geoserver, Docker etc.)
  • Experience with Linux (WSL) and GIT
  • Experience working with Cloud-Computing (AWS)
  • Experience in handling large data volumes
