Job Summary

This role is for an IT Engineer specializing in SAP software development within the Digitalization, Organization, and IT Department (DO.IT) of the State Capital Stuttgart. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new SAP software and interface solutions, ensuring the smooth operation of municipal financial IT systems. Key responsibilities include gathering requirements, creating specifications, designing program architectures and data models, programming new software, adapting existing components, and integrating municipal software modules. The role also involves planning and executing software tests, troubleshooting errors, creating documentation, and supporting key users during the introduction of new applications. This is a part-time (50%), permanent position within the SAP Competence Center Stuttgart (CCS) team, focusing on SAP ERP 6.0 across various modules.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a comparable field; alternatively, a completed technical vocational training (e.g., IT Specialist) with at least three years of relevant professional experience.

Experience

  • At least 3 years of practical experience in SAP development, especially in ABAP
  • At least 3 years of experience in the extension and adaptation of SAP modules
  • Experience in data modeling and working with relational databases (e.g., SQL)
  • Proficient in software testing and quality assurance
