Job Summary

This role is for an IT Engineer specializing in browser environments within the Department for Digitalization, Organization, and IT (DO.IT) of the state capital Stuttgart. The successful candidate will ensure the smooth and reliable operation of city-wide browsers, managing their full lifecycle from conception and design to continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include providing 2nd-level support for browser-related issues, assisting citizen developers with web technologies, and translating requirements into technical solutions, including project-based software engineering for web environments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to actively contribute to the digitalization efforts within a large municipal administration, ensuring robust and secure web services for the city.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a comparable field

Experience

  • Initial experience in problem analysis and concept creation
  • Experience in implementing web applications, ideally with JavaScript
  • Ideally, experience in project-based work
  • Ideally, experience in handling security issues in browser environments
  • Experience with the lifecycle of various browsers (e.g., Firefox, Edge) is advantageous
