Job Summary

The Max Rubner-Institut, a federal research and advisory institution for nutrition and food, is seeking a Chemist for a project focused on minimizing off-flavor-associated cyanotoxins in edible fish. This role involves developing and applying analytical methods, particularly LC-MS and GC-MS, to analyze cyanotoxins and off-flavor compounds in water, algae, and fish matrices. The successful candidate will contribute to a nationally coordinated project aimed at supporting German inland fisheries and aquaculture by developing "probiotic" algae to displace toxin-producing cyanobacteria. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Food Chemistry, or a comparable scientific field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in independent scientific project work

  • Experience in writing scientific manuscripts for international peer-reviewed journals (desirable)
