Job Summary
This role involves ensuring the stable and secure operation of central IT systems for the City of Stuttgart's Department for Digitization, Organization, and IT. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering Linux servers, virtual machines, and containers, as well as configuring and managing DNS, DHCP, and firewalls. A key aspect of the role is enhancing IT security through audits and securing systems according to BSI guidelines, providing central network services like mail gateways with spam protection, and performing data backups and system monitoring. The position also entails troubleshooting technical issues and documenting processes to ensure smooth IT operations, working closely with colleagues to maintain a reliable IT infrastructure.
Required Skills
Education
Completed university degree (Bachelor) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or completed training as an IT Specialist for System Integration, or a comparable IT-related education with at least 3 years of relevant professional experience.
Experience
- Professional experience in managing Linux servers (Debian)
- Professional experience in virtualization environments (e.g., Proxmox or VMware)
- Professional experience in configuring and managing DNS, DHCP, and mail gateways
- Professional experience in IT security, ideally with BSI guidelines, IT-Grundschutz, or KRITIS
