Job Summary

As a Cloud Operations Engineer, you will be instrumental in building and maintaining a scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS for the Health + Life Science Alliance Data Space. Your daily tasks will involve provisioning and configuring AWS services, developing Infrastructure as Code solutions using tools like Terraform, and implementing containerized environments with Kubernetes or Docker. You will also be responsible for integrating hybrid cloud solutions, optimizing data storage, and ensuring the infrastructure's reliability, cost efficiency, and compliance with security and privacy regulations for sensitive research data. Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Experience

  • Strong experience with AWS services
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS EKS, or similar)
  • Professional experience in industry standard DevOps tasks and processes
  • Experience with hybrid cloud environments and integrating on-premise resources with cloud services (preferred)
  • Previous experience in academic research environments or health/life sciences data infrastructure (preferred)
