This role is for a highly skilled expert in upstream processing (USP) technologies, focusing on supporting manufacturing process owners. Day-to-day, you will provide critical technical expertise in areas like cell bank strategies, seed train approaches, production bioreactor technologies, and cell separation methods. You will be instrumental in the development, optimization, and lifecycle management of upstream processes, collaborating closely with CMC teams during product launches and scaling procedures. The position requires strong interaction with internal departments, contract manufacturers, and network partners, ensuring process alignment, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across all manufacturing stages. Required Skills
Education
Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
Experience
- 5+ years in upstream processing technologies (cell bank development, seed train strategies, bioreactor operations, cell separation)
- Proven track record in manufacturing process development, optimization, and lifecycle management
- Experience in tech transfer and launch activities within a biopharmaceutical or biotechnology environment
