Job Summary

This PhD position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in Mixed-Mode Chromatography within Sartorius Stedim Biotech GmbH. The successful candidate will delve into the current Mixed-Mode resin portfolio, generating critical knowledge and understanding the interplay between ligand structure and matrix properties. Day-to-day, you will develop resin and membrane-based Mixed-Mode chromatography media, focusing on polysaccharide-based materials for preparative bioprocess chromatography. This role involves close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners, including clients and research institutes. You will also manage tasks, supervise Bachelor's and Master's theses, monitor the patent landscape, and present scientific findings at conferences and through publications. This hybrid role, based in Göttingen with remote flexibility, is ideal for a highly motivated individual passionate about experimental lab work and applied research at the intersection of polymer, physical, resin, membrane, and protein chemistry.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree in Natural Sciences (e.g., Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Biotechnology, Life Sciences) or a comparable natural or engineering science degree

Experience
