Job Summary
Join a dedicated team at TWINCORE's Institute for Experimental Virology, focusing on the global health priority of Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) vaccine research. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting scientists to develop and test new vaccine candidates in mouse models, perform antibody testing on mouse sera, and cultivate mammalian cells for infection experiments. You will also contribute to laboratory organization, ensuring the smooth operation of the research environment. This position offers the opportunity to work on a project funded by the German Center for Infection Research (DZIF) with national and international partners, aiming to identify the most promising HCV vaccine candidate for clinical implementation. It's an exciting chance to contribute to developing a preventive vaccine that could significantly reduce the global burden of HCV.
Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training as a Technical Assistant (e.g., BTA, MTA, or comparable qualifications)
Experience
- Practical experience in cell culture, virology, and/or microbiology is desirable
- Experience participating in animal experiments, such as sample collection or animal controls
Languages
Additional
- Initial contract duration of 2 years; Work location is Hannover, Germany; Knowledge or experience in Biosafety Level 3 (BSL-3) laboratory is advantageous.
