Job Summary

This role involves the technical setup and maintenance of advanced micro and nanostructuring equipment, including electron beam lithography, direct optical lithography, and focused ion beam (FIB) systems, within the cutting-edge QuantumEngineering Center (ZQE) at Technical University of Munich. The successful candidate will conduct structuring experiments, provide essential service and support to scientific users, and instruct students and researchers on equipment operation. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to quantum science research, participate in data analysis, and assist in evaluating experiment proposals in a vibrant, interdisciplinary environment with state-of-the-art technology. It requires a strong scientific or engineering background, practical experience in micro and nanostructuring, and excellent English communication skills.

Completed university degree in natural sciences or engineering

Experience

  • Extensive experience in research and development (e.g., through a doctorate)
  • Prior experience in micro and nanostructuring of samples, or handling electron beam lithography, optical lithography, or focused ion beam systems
  • Prior experience with the maintenance of scientific instruments (advantageous)
