Research Associate / PhD Candidate (Geodetic Earth System Research) | wiss. Mitarbeiterin bzw. Mitarbeiter / Doktorandin bzw. Doktorand (m/w/d)
Technische Universität Dresden Arbeitsstätte Dresden
Job Summary
This role involves working on the "Advancing the understanding of glacial isostatic adjustment in Antarctica" (ANT-GIA) research project, a collaboration between TU Dresden and GFZ Helmholtz Centre Potsdam. The successful candidate will focus on processing and interpreting geodetic GNSS observations, integrating geological and glacio-geomorphological insights to reconstruct ice load histories in Antarctica. Day-to-day tasks include data preparation, reprocessing GNSS data, determining Earth's crustal deformation, refining regional ice load histories, and deriving 3D crustal deformation time series. This position offers a unique opportunity for scientific qualification, typically a PhD, within an internationally networked research group, contributing significantly to our understanding of GIA-driven processes in Antarctica.
Required Skills
Education
Master's degree or equivalent in Geodesy or a related field (Geophysics, Geoinformatics, Physics, Mathematics)
Experience
- Experience with geodetic space techniques, especially in processing geodetic GNSS measurements
- Experience with methods of parameter estimation and stochastic modeling
- Experience with investigations of processes connecting solid Earth and ice sheets (advantageous)
Languages
Additional
