Job Summary

This role involves supporting and training researchers at the Cluster of Excellence “Physics of Life” with various biophysical measurement tools, including both commercial and custom-made equipment. The specialist will engage in scientific research, provide consulting on biophysical workflows, and develop new technologies. Key responsibilities include training users on instruments like optical tweezers, atomic force microscopy, and laser cutters, maintaining and calibrating equipment, and assisting with biophysical data analysis. Candidates should possess a university degree in physics or biophysics, expertise in relevant techniques, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative, service-oriented mindset. Required Skills

Education

University degree (M.Sc., PhD, or equivalent) in physics, biophysics, or related subjects

Experience

  • Strong background in the measurement of biophysical parameters
  • Expertise in at least one of the relevant techniques (optical tweezers, AFM, laser cutters)
  • Professional experience in imaging of biological samples and analysis of biophysical data
  • Previous experience in imaging support and/or microscopy sample preparation (advantageous)
  • Previous expertise in building instrumentation for physical measurements (advantageous)
