Job Summary
The Cluster of Excellence “Physics of Life” (PoL) at TUD Dresden University of Technology is seeking a Research Associate / Light Microscopy Specialist. This role involves conducting scientific research and development, providing expert support to users of advanced imaging systems like confocal and light sheet microscopes, and collaborating with research groups on customized imaging workflows. The specialist will also train users, maintain and optimize imaging equipment, and contribute to the facility's strategic planning and equipment acquisition. This position is ideal for a service-oriented professional with a strong background in optical microscopy and excellent communication skills, looking for a challenging role in an international, interdisciplinary research environment.
Required Skills
Education
University degree (B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D., or equivalent) in biophysics, biology, physics, or a related scientific or technical field
Experience
- Solid practical experience with optical microscopy techniques
- Previous experience in imaging support
- Previous experience in microscopy sample preparation
