Job Summary

This role is for an Electrical Engineer to lead and manage sub-projects within a significant public transport infrastructure initiative in Cologne, Germany. The project focuses on expanding the Ost-West-Achse tram line, including underground and above-ground sections, and upgrading all tram stops for longer trains. Day-to-day, the engineer will independently manage project aspects, act as the client's representative during planning and execution, coordinate with stakeholders, prepare tenders, and review invoices and change orders. This position offers the opportunity to shape a crucial urban development project from initial planning through construction completion, contributing to Cologne's liveability and sustainable mobility. Required Skills

Education

University of Applied Sciences Diploma (FH-Diplom) or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Other engineering degrees are considered with relevant experience in high-voltage systems.

Experience

  • Professional experience in planning and/or execution of construction measures, preferably in tram or civil engineering infrastructure projects
  • Several years of experience in the field of high-voltage systems (System group 4 from the HOAI technical equipment service profile) if not an Electrical Engineering degree holder
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in all planning steps including design, approval, construction preparation, and implementation of tram or traffic infrastructure facilities
