Job Summary
This role involves contributing to cutting-edge medical research at a leading university hospital in Düsseldorf. The Bioinformatician will be responsible for designing and implementing scientific analysis pipelines, developing the service catalog for the Core Unit Bioinformatics, and providing expert consultation to researchers on new projects. A key aspect of the role is continuous professional development in relevant areas like infrastructure, technology, and software, as well as training other staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bioinformatics, excellent programming skills, and experience with sequence data analysis. Required Skills
Education
Master's degree or equivalent in Bioinformatics or a related field
Experience
- Professional experience in programming with Python
- Professional experience with Snakemake
- Professional experience with Linux systems and Git
- Experience in the analysis of sequencing data (single-cell, bulk)
- Doctoral degree or project experience is advantageous

- This is a full-time position, initially limited to 2 years. Due to regulations, only applicants who have not previously been employed at Heinrich Heine University (HHU) can be considered.
