Job Summary

This role offers an exciting opportunity for a Research Scientist to contribute to applied research in the bioeconomy, specifically focusing on bioplastics and biopolymers at the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Polymer Research IAP in Schwarzheide, Germany. The successful candidate will be instrumental in planning and executing R&D projects, developing innovative project ideas, and preparing scientific publications and reports. You will also support the acquisition of industrial contracts and continuously foster knowledge exchange within the team. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in polymer or materials science, a passion for advancing bioplastics, and a proactive, team-oriented approach to research.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Polymer Sciences, Material Sciences, Chemistry, or related fields. Doctorate or degree in Plastics Engineering is desirable.

Experience

  • Professional experience in applied research in bioeconomy
  • Professional experience in planning and conducting research and development projects
  • Professional experience in developing innovative project ideas and preparing project proposals
  • Professional experience in writing scientific publications and project reports
  • Practical experience in industry (production, innovation, R&D) is desirable
