Job Summary

This role involves providing comprehensive IT support and service for the University of Saarland and other state universities in Saarland. The specialist will manage Microsoft directory services, install and configure PC workstations, and integrate them into the existing IT infrastructure. A key part of the role is supporting the IT procurement process, from consulting with departments and gathering requirements to creating specifications, obtaining quotes, and managing inventory. The position also includes handling and prioritizing helpdesk tickets, performing fault analysis, and resolving hardware and software issues as a 2nd-level support specialist. Required Skills

Education

Completed IT-related vocational training or comparable relevant qualification

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in an IT-related field or comparable qualification
  • Experience with Microsoft directory services
  • Experience in the installation, configuration, operation, and support of PC workstations and peripheral devices
  • Experience with IT procurement processes and current IT hardware from various manufacturers
