Job Summary

The University of Saarland is seeking a dedicated Energy Manager to join their Facility Management department. In this role, you will be crucial in ensuring the sustainable operation of university buildings by implementing and overseeing energy-saving and resource-efficient practices. Your day-to-day will involve comprehensive energy monitoring, including data collection and analysis for water, district heating, and electricity consumption. You will also be responsible for planning and executing expansions for energy and media flow capture, developing tender documents, and contributing to procurement processes. This position offers the opportunity to introduce and manage an energy management system and develop energy efficiency concepts, making it an attractive role for professionals passionate about sustainable building operations and energy optimization within a large institutional setting.

Required Skills

Education

Completed degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, or Environmental Engineering) or qualification as a Technician/Master in a comparable field

Experience

  • Professional experience in energy efficiency
  • Knowledge and experience in building services engineering (HVAC, network, and IT technology)
  • Knowledge of HOAI, LBO, DIN, VDE regulations, and public procurement law
  • Knowledge of the Building Energy Act (GEG) and the Saarland Climate Protection Act (SKSG)

Additional

  • Proof of equivalence for foreign university degrees from the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB) is required before employment. Knowledge of university structures is beneficial.
