Job Summary

This role is for an Electrical Engineer specializing in protection technology for High-Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) and Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM) systems. The successful candidate will be instrumental in integrating renewable energies by developing technical solutions for protection systems in HVDC and FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission Systems) plants. Day-to-day, this involves deep dives into plant technical fundamentals, continuous knowledge development, and acting as the primary point of contact for colleagues regarding secondary technology in HVDC/FACTS. The role also includes contributing to supplier contract negotiations, overseeing acceptance tests, and ensuring compliance with technical standards. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of sustainable energy amidst the ongoing energy transition and grid expansion, working on challenging and exciting projects.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, or comparable qualification

Experience

  • Professional experience in high-voltage and extra-high-voltage AC and DC technology
  • Professional experience in protection technology for reactive power compensation systems (FACTS), converter, and inverter technology (HVDC)
