Job Summary

This role involves supporting the Bavarian State Office for the Environment in integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) into their geological data management processes. The specialist will identify potential AI application areas, develop and train AI models, and program custom applications or scripts to enhance efficiency in processing vast amounts of geological data. Additionally, the position includes collaborating with external service providers for IT development, which involves drafting tender documents, conducting requirements analysis, defining use cases and test cases, coordinating tasks, and testing deliverables. A key responsibility will also be migrating Python scripts from ArcGIS to QGIS as part of a transition to open-source GIS programs.
