Job Summary
This role involves the development, implementation, and support of IT procedures for collecting, qualifying, and managing landscape-describing geobasis data within the Official Topographic-Cartographic Information System (ATKIS). The specialist will also work on IT procedures using open-source Geographic Information System (GIS) software like QGIS and database management systems such as PostgreSQL/PostGIS for viewing, editing, capturing, analyzing, and presenting spatial data. This position is based in Erfurt, Germany, with the possibility of partial remote work. It offers a unique opportunity to contribute to critical geoinformation infrastructure, leveraging expertise in geoinformatics and spatial data management to drive the agency's geo-applications.
Required Skills
Education
Completed university of applied sciences or Bachelor's degree in Geoinformatics, Surveying, Cartography, or another geoscientific field with completed modules in Surveying, Geoinformation, Cartography, or Geoinformatics.
Experience
- Professional experience in developing, implementing, and supporting IT procedures for geobasis data
- Professional experience with open-source GIS software and database management systems

- Work location in Erfurt, Germany, with potential for partial home office. Foreign educational qualifications require proof of equivalence with a German degree and a certified translation by the application deadline. Appointment as a civil servant (Besoldungsgruppe A 11 ThürBesG) or classification in pay group 11 TV-L for employees, with a possibility of later transfer to civil servant status in the higher technical service (Geodesy and Geoinformation) if requirements are met (especially with a Surveying degree).
