Job Summary

This role involves working as a Cyber Analyst and Forensic Expert within the Criminalistics Department of the Thuringian State Criminal Police Office. Day-to-day, you will be responsible for processing complex forensic investigation assignments and projects, with a strong focus on Automotive IT and vehicle forensics. Key tasks include creating forensic data backups on-site or in the lab, securing and evaluating data from electronic control units and digital vehicle systems for court use, drafting expert opinions, and defending them in court. You will also test and evaluate new hardware and software for forensic analysis suitability. The position requires a multi-year training program to become a certified forensic expert. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in Vehicle Technology, Automotive Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Digital Forensics, or a comparable field; OR Civil Service qualification for the higher-level IT or technical service.

Experience

  • Multi-year training to become a 'Forensic IuK Expert' (required post-hire)
  • Professional experience in mathematical-scientific fields
  • Professional experience in technical vehicle diagnostics
