Job Summary

This role involves establishing and operating information collection points to combat politically motivated crime (PMK). The Officer will conduct Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) research across the internet, including text, image, video, and audio, to gather critical information for law enforcement tasks, particularly in terrorism cases and complex state security crimes. Day-to-day tasks include media monitoring, real-time information procurement for various operational situations, and initial assessment of data from open sources. The position also supports the creation of situation reports, maps, and dashboards for PMK threat relevance and force management, while continuously developing and evaluating OSINT research concepts, tactical communication, and monitoring strategies. Required Skills

Education

Civil service qualification for the higher-level information technology or higher-level technical service, OR a completed university degree (Fach-/Hochschulstudium) in Data Science, (Media) Informatics, or a comparable field.

Additional

  • Applicants must undergo a security clearance in accordance with the Thuringian Security Clearance Act (ThürSÜG). A multi-stage aptitude selection process will be conducted after pre-selection. The position offers career development opportunities up to salary group A 11 ThürBesO. Initial employment will be under collective bargaining law (Entgeltgruppe 11 TV-L) with the intention of civil service appointment after successful probation and fulfillment of all personal and career-related requirements. This is a full-time, permanent position. Work permits for Germany are required if not an EU citizen.
