Job Summary

This role involves the technical processing of permit applications under the Water Resources Act and Lower Saxony Water Act, along with providing water law opinions for various construction and planning procedures. The specialist will also conduct water body supervision, including advising on and reviewing maintenance measures, and participate in water body inspections. Key responsibilities include inspecting facilities with water-hazardous substances in agriculture, assessing contaminated operational areas, and investigating water pollution offenses. This position requires a strong background in civil engineering with a focus on water management or a comparable technical/scientific field, coupled with knowledge of water ecology, maintenance, and water law. The ideal candidate will be a responsible, self-reliant, and team-oriented professional with excellent organizational skills and proficiency in standard and specialized software.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Diploma, Bachelor, Master) in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Management, or a comparable technical or scientific degree with relevant specializations.

Experience

  • Professional experience in processing permit and authorization applications related to water resources
  • Experience in providing water law opinions for construction and planning projects
  • Experience in water body supervision and maintenance review
  • Experience with facilities containing water-hazardous substances
  • Experience in investigating environmental offenses

Additional

  • Class B driving license is required, with the possibility of using a private vehicle for work against financial reimbursement. Willingness to participate in on-call duty for the water protection alarm service. The position is located in Göttingen, Germany.
