Job Summary

This Research Associate position at the University of Greifswald focuses on experimental plant ecology, specifically investigating peat formation potential and floristic biodiversity in rewetting fens, both with and without open-field photovoltaic systems. The role is part of the interdisciplinary 'MoorPower' research project, which aims to comprehensively analyze the technical, ecological, socio-economic, and legal aspects of combining peatland rewetting with photovoltaics. Day-to-day tasks will involve extensive data collection in field locations across Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, utilizing methods such as vegetation surveys, litterbags, and ingrowth cores. The collected data will then be rigorously analyzed, preferably using R, and the findings published in scientific journals. This position is ideal for a highly motivated individual with a strong background in plant ecology and statistical analysis, offering the opportunity to pursue a cumulative doctoral degree within a collaborative and international research environment.
