Job Summary
The Leibniz Institute for Vegetable and Ornamental Crops (IGZ) is seeking a highly motivated Research Group Leader to spearhead an innovative research strategy focused on plant-microbe interactions. This role involves leading a team of scientists, securing funding through grant applications, and publishing research in top-tier international journals. The successful candidate will also be responsible for transferring research findings into horticultural production systems, supervising students and staff, and teaching courses at Humboldt University. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to scientific solutions for critical challenges like climate change and sustainable agriculture, with the potential for a permanent role after a successful initial term and a possible W2-S professorship.
Required Skills
Education
PhD in Phytopathology, (Micro-)Biology, Plant Sciences, or a related field with a focus on plant-microbe interactions in horticultural or agricultural systems
Experience
- Postdoctoral research experience
- Strong scientific publication record in plant-microbe interactions
