Job Summary

This position is a fixed-term, three-year PhD opportunity within the Leibniz Institute of Vegetable and Ornamental Crops (IGZ) focused on cutting-edge plant biology research. The successful candidate will join the ADAPT.1 research group to investigate how intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) and prion-like domains (PLDs) regulate the temperature responsiveness of Heat Shock Factor (HSF) transcription factors in Arabidopsis thaliana. Day-to-day tasks involve experimental design, cloning, construct creation, conducting plant growth and survival assays under heat stress, and performing molecular biological investigations like gene expression analyses. Key requirements include a Master’s degree in Biology or a related field, sound knowledge of plant stress signaling, and experience in cloning and molecular biological methods. This role offers the chance to complete a doctorate at the University of Potsdam while working in an international, dynamic research environment near Berlin and Potsdam.
