Job Summary

This Project Assistant role focuses on the design and implementation of a web application prototype featuring speech input functionality. The successful candidate will develop a user-friendly interface and integrate a Large Language Model (LLM) via an API, managing user guidance, logging, and persistent storage of dialogue histories. Key responsibilities also include supporting quality assurance, conducting user tests with older adults alongside the scientific project team, and engaging in interdisciplinary project work and research support. The role involves integrating target group requirements, analyzing usage scenarios, evaluating interaction patterns, and handling logging and annotation. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to innovative web application development and user research, particularly within the context of assistive technologies for older demographics.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Internet Computing, Media Informatics, AI, Data Science, or a comparable field with a minimum grade of "good".

Experience

  • Experience with speech interfaces (Text-to-Speech / Speech-to-Text)
  • Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) is advantageous
  • Basic understanding of NLP and language models
  • UX/UI knowledge in the context of older user groups is desirable
  • Basic knowledge in empirical research / user research is beneficial
