Job Summary

The Technical University of Munich (TUM) is seeking a motivated Materials or Construction Materials Tester to join their 'Binders and Additives' working group in Garching near Munich. In this role, you will be responsible for independently preparing and conducting tests on mineral binders, mortars, and concretes for research and material testing purposes. Key responsibilities include sample preparation, evaluating test results, and maintaining laboratory equipment. You will also provide technical support to students and apprentices. This position offers an engaging opportunity within one of Germany's leading research and testing institutes for construction materials, ideal for someone with practical experience in material analysis and a keen eye for detail. The role is initially for two years with the possibility of extension.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training, preferably as a Materials or Construction Materials Tester (Werkstoff- oder Baustoffprüfer)

Experience

  • Professional experience in construction material analysis and testing or a completed vocational training as a Materials or Construction Materials Tester
  • Experience in maintaining and caring for experimental and analytical equipment
  • Experience in instructing apprentices and student interns
  • Experience providing technical support to students
