Job Summary
Join Climeworks, a leader in Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology, as the Lead EIC Engineer, driving the technical direction for Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls (EIC) across all major projects. Your core mission involves defining, updating, and enforcing EIC engineering standards, specifications, and guidelines to ensure strict compliance with global codes and safety regulations. You will provide critical technical oversight and approval for all EIC design deliverables, including power distribution and control system architecture. A key aspect of the role is leading initiatives focused on improving system reliability, troubleshooting complex issues, and introducing emerging technologies like smart instrumentation and advanced control systems. This position requires strong cross-functional collaboration, acting as the primary EIC interface with process and mechanical teams, while also supervising and coaching junior engineers. Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 7+ years of relevant experience, coupled with fluency in English, to thrive in this innovative, fast-paced environment.

Experience
- 7+ years of experience in an Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls (EIC) engineering leadership role
- Professional experience in heavy industries such as gas processing, mining, minerals processing, or water treatment
- Proven ability to define and maintain technical direction and enforce engineering standards

- Must be based in Opfikon, Zurich, and work onsite at least three days per week. Occasional travel is required.
