Job Summary

This part-time doctoral researcher position, starting January 1, 2026, focuses on understanding the molecular replication mechanisms and clinical transmission pathways of human hepatitis and coronaviruses, with a goal to develop prevention and therapy strategies. The successful candidate will investigate the complete viral life cycle, including virus egress, in various cell culture systems. This involves developing new biochemical and microscopy-based assay systems to detail these processes. Day-to-day tasks include cell cultivation, working with viral RNA, performing virological titrations, molecular biological analyses, fluorescence microscopy, and biochemical assays. The role requires a Master's degree in Biosciences/Biomedicine and significant experience in molecular virology, particularly with eukaryotic cell cultivation, RNA handling, and hepatitis viruses. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in virology and develop antiviral agents.
