Job Summary

This doctoral position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research at the intersection of basic virology, clinical application, and data-driven methods. The successful candidate will investigate the cell tropism of the Hepatitis E virus (HEV), developing new biochemical and microscopy-based assay systems to understand viral replication and transmission pathways. Day-to-day tasks will involve extensive lab work, including cell culture, RNA handling, virological titrations, molecular biology techniques, fluorescence microscopy, and biochemical assays, specifically with Hepatitis viruses. The role also includes bioinformatic analysis of molecular and virological datasets, sequence analysis, and high-throughput data interpretation. This position is ideal for a Master's graduate in Biosciences/Biomedicine with strong molecular virology experience, seeking to deepen their expertise in a collaborative, research-intensive environment focused on developing effective prevention and therapy strategies for severe human viral infections.
