Job Summary

This full-time, fixed-term postdoctoral position for three years is based at the newly established Faculty of Computer Science at Ruhr University Bochum, a leader in IT security research. The role is within the Chair for Cryptography, led by Prof. Dr. Eike Kiltz, and offers the opportunity to contribute to the Cluster of Excellence CASA, which focuses on developing defenses against cyberattacks. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing new tools and models for practical cryptography, exploring the foundations of probable security, and supporting the Chair's activities, including organizing scientific conferences and leading exercise groups. This is an exciting opportunity for a researcher with an excellent doctoral degree and a strong publication record in top-tier cryptography conferences to join an international and dynamic team.

Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related disciplines

Experience

  • Professional experience in developing new tools and models for practical cryptography
  • Experience with time-space lower bounds and their application to cryptography
  • Experience publishing relevant papers at leading cryptography conferences (EUROCRYPT, CRYPTO, ASIACRYPT)
