Job Summary
This role is for a Project Manager within the Research Management Department, specifically supporting the CEPLAS Cluster of Excellence at one of Europe's largest universities. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full administrative and financial management of the CEPLAS project at the Cologne site, from advising scientists to preparing statements of use. This involves close collaboration with project leadership and management, as well as budget planning, project controlling, and report generation. The position offers a unique matrix structure, embedding the role within both the Research Management Department and the CEPLAS Cluster's office, providing a dynamic interface between administration and scientific research. It requires a strong background in project management, particularly with third-party funded projects, and excellent communication skills.
Required Skills
Education
Completed scientific university degree, ideally in natural sciences
Experience
- Practical experience in managing third-party funded projects
- Knowledge of the requirements of the Excellence Strategy (Exzellenzstrategie)
- Knowledge of the requirements of national funding institutions (DFG, BMBF, Land, etc.) and university frameworks

- This is a part-time position (26 hours per week) starting January 1, 2026, and is limited until December 31, 2032. The role is a matrix position within the Research Management Department and the CEPLAS Cluster's office.
