Job Summary

This Postdoctoral Researcher position at Philipps University Marburg involves groundbreaking research within the DFG research group FOR5046 "SLC26 Anion Transporters." The primary goal is to unravel the molecular and ultrastructural architecture of sensory outer hair cell lateral membranes to understand the active electromechanical processes crucial for human hearing sensitivity and vulnerability. The role requires planning and executing research projects in molecular physiology and biophysics, utilizing a diverse array of biochemical, fluorescence microscopy (including super-resolution), electrophysiological, and ultrastructural (Cryo-EM) methods. Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Diploma, Master, or equivalent) in Biology, Human Biology, Biochemistry, or Biophysics, and a completed doctorate or proof of a doctoral project nearing completion.

Experience

  • Professional experience in scientific research services
  • In-depth methodological experience in at least one of the following: high-resolution fluorescence microscopy, protein complex biochemistry, Cryo-EM, protein structure resolution
  • Excellent knowledge of cell biological and molecular biological methods
  • Willingness to work with animal tissue samples (primarily mouse)
