Job Summary
The University of Rostock is seeking a dedicated Research Associate in General and Special Botany to join their Institute for Biosciences. This part-time position (20 hours/week), commencing October 1, 2025, and concluding September 30, 2028, is ideal for a candidate aiming for scientific qualification (Doctorate). The role involves conducting research on desiccation-tolerant vascular plants, performing fundamental laboratory work including enzymatic reactions and solution preparation, and engaging in academic teaching (2 SWS) through exercises, practicals, and excursions. The successful candidate will also supervise and grade student work, organize scientific events, and publish research findings. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual with a strong background in botany and molecular methods to advance their scientific career within a supportive university environment.
Required Skills
Education
University degree (State Examination, Diploma, Master or equivalent) in Botany with a very good or at least good result
Experience
- Professional experience in scientific work
- Professional experience in molecular biological methods (desirable)
