Job Summary

This role is for a proactive Customer Support Engineer specializing in firewall and network infrastructure for Airbus Secure Land Communications. The successful candidate will be responsible for the setup, installation, and maintenance of firewall and network solutions, ensuring a stable and high-performing network. Key tasks include complex network problem analysis, incident management, and contributing to change, release, and configuration management processes. The position requires strong expertise in network and firewall administration, including TCP/IP, IP-Sec, and routing protocols. Ideal candidates will possess a degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience, coupled with excellent communication skills in both German and English, and a willingness to be on-call and travel occasionally.

Required Skills

Education

Degree in Computer Science or comparable qualification; or completed vocational training as an IT Systems Electronics Technician

Experience

  • Long-term professional experience as an IT Systems Electronics Technician
  • Very good knowledge in planning and administration of network and firewall infrastructures
  • Solid experience in network technology and TCP/IP
  • Very good knowledge in IP-Sec
  • Very good knowledge in switching and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF)
  • Proficient in network troubleshooting and using standard tools (e.g., tcpdump, Wireshark)
  • Solid knowledge in digital switching technology, ideally with practical experience on DXT systems (Nokia)
  • Solid knowledge of mobile communication technologies
