Job Summary
The Biosphere Community of Mandelbachtal is seeking a dedicated Climate Adaptation Manager to lead the development and implementation of an integrated climate adaptation concept. This role involves comprehensive responsibilities from initial stocktaking and hotspot analysis to creating a detailed action plan, including a robust monitoring and controlling framework. The successful candidate will integrate existing climate protection and flood prevention strategies, coordinate implementation efforts, and manage project funding. A key aspect of the role is public engagement, requiring the organization of workshops, campaigns, and fostering collaboration between political bodies, administration, and the public. Required Skills
Education
University degree (Master/Bachelor/Diploma) in Environmental, Natural, or Engineering Sciences (e.g., Environmental Technology, Environmental Planning, Environmental Sciences, Civil Engineering, Sustainability Management with a focus on Climate Adaptation)
Experience
- At least two years of professional experience in developing climate adaptation concepts
- At least two years of professional experience in project steering and project work for the implementation of climate adaptation projects (e.g., heavy rainfall and flood prevention, disaster preparedness)
- Experience in administrative processes and procedures is desirable
- Experience in campaign, networking, and public relations work
