Job Summary

This role involves supporting the development, verification, and validation of nucleic acid-based kits for detecting and quantifying (human) pathogenic microorganisms in food and feed. Key responsibilities include independently planning and documenting microbiological and molecular biological experiments in an S2/3** laboratory, collaborating closely with the technical team for experiment execution, and analyzing and presenting results. The successful candidate will also conduct literature and technology research to foster innovative solutions and ensure project completion on time and according to client requirements. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional passionate about scientific work, eager for continuous development, and comfortable working independently within a collaborative, international team.

Required Skills

Education

Master of Science or PhD in (Food) Microbiology, Food/Biotechnology, or a related natural science field

Experience

  • At least 3 years of professional experience in food microbiology
  • Foundational knowledge in microbiology and molecular biology
  • Practical experience in molecular biological methods such as real-time PCR and nucleic acid extraction from bacteria
  • Experience working in an S2/3** laboratory environment
  • Experience with independent organization and work
