Job Summary

As a Controls Engineer at Amazon, you will be instrumental in managing and optimizing building automation systems across EMEA. Your daily responsibilities will involve on-site management, directing vendors for installation and commissioning, ensuring project quality and timely delivery, and coordinating with operations teams for service works. You will apply your expertise in electrical and control diagrams, industrial HVAC, and sophisticated controls platforms to develop technical specifications, create detailed drawings for control panels and power distribution, and implement complex logic diagrams. This role requires a blend of technical acumen, project coordination skills, and a strategic mindset to align building controls with broader business objectives, contributing to Amazon's customer-centric mission.

Required Skills

Education

B.S. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, HVAC, or other related engineering degree

Experience

  • 5+ years related experience in controls engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in project coordination with multiple teams or vendors to meet project requirements
  • Experience with installation, configuration, or servicing of building control products (e.g., Siemens Apogee, Honeywell Building Controls, Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk)
  • Demonstrated understanding of engineering documentation, electrical diagrams, and standard operating procedures
  • Demonstrated success in leading teams in construction or development environment (preferred)
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholder deliverables and requirements (preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience developing and justifying budgets, and managing financial performance (preferred)
  • Experience managing capital projects ranging from $50K to $10M (preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience developing, managing, or validating performance specifications and requirements (preferred)
  • Experience expanding Controls knowledge base (new systems, technology) (preferred)
  • Experience working in data centers or other critical facilities (preferred)
