Job Summary

This Postdoctoral Researcher position, funded by the Wilhelm Sander Foundation, is based at the Institute for Systems Immunology within the Department of Medicine. The role focuses on developing targeted therapeutic approaches against tumor-associated macrophages in lung cancer, specifically involving the creation of bio-based capsules for precise delivery of active compounds and siRNAs to disrupt mitochondrial metabolism in immunosuppressive macrophages. Day-to-day tasks include conducting scientific research, independently mentoring students, managing translational cancer research projects, and presenting findings at conferences. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in biology, biochemistry, or related life sciences, with expertise in molecular biology, chemistry, cell biology, immunology, and practical skills in drug encapsulation and animal models. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual to contribute to cutting-edge cancer research in a collaborative and well-equipped environment, while also advancing their own scientific qualifications.
