Job Summary

The GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel is seeking a Project Manager to coordinate the Interreg 6a RECOVER project, focusing on protecting the Western Baltic Sea. This role involves overseeing project objectives, milestones, and timelines, as well as preparing activity and financial reports. The successful candidate will also manage project communications, including website maintenance, social media presence, and the creation of informational materials. Key responsibilities include organizing project meetings and public events, such as a final conference, and fostering communication with network partners. This position is ideal for someone with a background in marine or environmental sciences, strong organizational skills, and a talent for stakeholder engagement across various sectors, contributing significantly to the efficient implementation of a vital environmental protection initiative.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Marine Sciences or Environmental Sciences

Experience

  • Professional experience in project coordination
  • Professional experience in dialogue with diverse stakeholders (politics, business, public)
  • Proven knowledge in creating project reports
  • Experience in outreach for online and print media
  • Desirable: Professional experience in the context of the Baltic Sea, especially in the protection and monitoring of pelagic ecosystems
  • Advantageous: Experience with Interreg projects
