Job Summary
This role involves managing and enhancing the IT infrastructure and services for a leading German university's regional computing center. The specialist will be responsible for the technical support of a CEPH storage environment, administering and developing a self-service virtualization platform utilizing OpenStack, Docker, and Kubernetes, and ensuring the smooth operation of IaaS infrastructure services. A key part of the role also includes delivering automated software tests. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Linux, container virtualization technologies, and automated integration testing, coupled with proficiency in Java. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a critical IT backbone, supporting academic and research initiatives within a dynamic university setting.
Required Skills
Education
Completed training as an IT Specialist in System Integration or comparable qualification
Experience
- Professional experience in system integration or comparable qualification
- Experience with automated integration tests, ideally using tools like Selenium
- Very good knowledge of common container virtualization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
