Job Summary
The Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon is seeking an experienced Group Leader for Plant Engineering to join their Central Department for Research Reactors in Geesthacht, near Hamburg. This full-time, permanent position is crucial for the ongoing project of decommissioning the research reactor and dismantling nuclear facilities. The successful candidate will lead the plant engineering group, overseeing the planning and execution of maintenance and modification measures on components and facilities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and managing documentation. This role requires a strong background in nuclear or related engineering fields, proven professional experience in plant operations or decommissioning, and initial leadership experience. The ideal candidate will contribute to ensuring the safety and efficiency of the decommissioning process through meticulous planning, quality assurance, and adherence to integrated management systems.
Required Skills
Education
University degree (Dipl.-Ing. [UNI] or M. Sc.) in Nuclear Engineering, Nuclear Technology, Nuclear Chemistry, Nuclear Physics, or a comparable field.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in the field of plant engineering or nuclear decommissioning
- Initial leadership experience
