Job Summary

This role is for a Communications Technology Engineer specializing in GSM-R network configuration within Germany's railway infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for the autonomous and comprehensive implementation of regional railway operational network configurations according to annual plans, ensuring timely and compliant delivery. Key tasks include configuring fixed-end devices, assigning radio cells to operational requirements, and preparing for and participating in acceptance tests of the network configuration. The role also involves conducting quality control of configurations, comparing existing setups with current measurement data during maintenance, and creating execution plans, including overseeing construction supervision processes and risk assessments. Required Skills

Education

University degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or a related engineering field, or a qualification as a Certified Specialist in Railway Operations (Fachwirt:in im Bahnbetrieb).

Experience

  • Professional experience in engineering (electrical, communications, or similar)
  • Knowledge of railway operations and technical requirements
  • Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and norms for construction projects (e.g., HOAI, VOB, VV BAU STE) or willingness to acquire them
  • Experience with quality control and acceptance processes
